The Brahminy Kite is found near bodies of water in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Australia, where they are also called the Red-backed Sea Eagle. We have a breeding pair on show who seem to be getting on very well.
Found widely through a range of African habitats the Harrier-Hawk has unusual double-jointed legs. This allows it easier access into nests and crevices to discover hidden food items. We have recently introduced a young male to our female.
An increasingly familiar sight in the UK after recovery and reintroduction after a long history of man-made decline. This large fork-tailed bird drifts over woodland and open countryside looking for small animals to hunt and carrion to scavenge.
These birds are closely related to Black Kites and exhibit the same buoyancy and flying skills as thier cousins. Our pair are currently enjoying their mixed-species aviary and we hope they will breed.
This adaptable hunter and scavenger is one of the most numerous of all birds of prey. Found in a wide range of habitats from Western Europe to Australia to Africa. We regularly fly a large group of these birds.
