Bird Adoptions
Many people who visit the centre express their wish to help with the upkeep of the birds. By adopting a certain bird of prey you can help with the feeding, housing and any veterinary fees for the following 12 months.
You can adopt most of the birds, a small list of some of the most popular birds can be found below. Adoptions can be made for yourself, clubs, businesses, family and friends. Why not give a special present to someone by adopting a bird for them?
After you have adopted the bird, your name will be displayed near to or on the aviary of that bird and an information card will be sent out.
Please be aware that your chosen bird may not be on view all year around.
In April 2019, our first Bald Eagle chick hatched. Today, Tuffrey is becoming one of the stars of our display.
Peregrine Falcons are famed for their hunting abilities. Took hatched here at the centre in May 2015.
Ivy the Common Buzzard hatched here in 2015 and regularly demonstrates her hunting techniques in our displays.
Mishka, our Eastern Siberian Eagle Owl, came to us as a baby in 2021 and is now our biggest owl here at the centre.
Inca is a Mottled Owl. She hatched in April 2021 and is currently in training to fly in our displays.
Spud is a European Kestrel, also known as a Common or Eurasian Kestrel. He arrived at the centre in 2020.
Our Black Vulture, Dallas, hatched in 2010 and is one of six different species of vulture we have at the centre.
Guy is our female Bateleur Eagle here at the centre. Her species is becoming increasingly Endangered.
Jimmy is a Critically Endangered Ruppell's Vulture. It is predicted these vultures will become extinct in the wild in the near future.
Kei is a young African Fish Eagle that we hope we can breed in the future. Until then, he is flying in our displays.
