Owl visits Garden Centre

Desmond goes to the Garden Centre to meet Father Christmas and pick out a Christmas Tree.

Eagle hatches

Choosing the last day of the 2015 season to hatch was our 12th Bateleur Eagle chick. All being well, he will have successfully left the nest in time for when we open again on the 13th February 2016. Thank you for all your support this year.

Latest chicks fledge

The final chicks of the 2014/15 breeding season have left the nest this month. A 6 week old Yellow Headed Caracara has been sitting in the tree whilst his protective parents keep a close eye on him. This year’s single African Goshawk chick has also fledged the nest.

Species 42 is successfully reared

Cotswold Falconry’s first Spectacled Owl chick has left the nest. Spectacled Owls are a relatively common, medium-large owl from woods and forests of South America. Many owl chicks will fledge with similar camouflage markings to the parents. However, full sized Spectacled Owl chicks are white with big panda eyes.

Off to School

Desmond and Mark visited a number of schools this month, including St David’s School in Moreton in Marsh who made this lovely collection of pictures after our visit.
